Ryan joined Kingsley Napley’s Dispute Resolution Team in July 2010. He was previously a Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution Department at Bolt Burdon Solicitors in Islington. Ryan acts for private individuals and businesses in a wide range of disputes. He frequently acts for a number of clients in the Media, Sport and Entertainment industry.
He has a reputation for giving practical and commercial advice, which is tailored to the specific needs and objectives of each client. Ryan recognises the importance of being tactically aware and being able to analyse the big picture in litigation.

- bringing and defending unfair prejudice claims and breach of duty claims for and against directors and disputes involving fall outs between partners, directors and shareholders
- acting in a wide variety of contractual disputes relating to the supply of goods and services, implied terms, enforceability of standard terms and conditions, exclusion clauses and unfair terms, risk and retention of title clauses and delivery and rejection of goods
- acting for a client defending allegations of negligent and fraudulent misrepresentation
- acting in a number of complex claims relating to post termination restrictions, restraint of trade clauses and restrictive covenants
- settling a substantial case against a leading insurer in respect of a dispute over the terms of a policy
- acting in a number of successful professional negligence claims against solicitors, accountants, architects, surveyors, investment/hedge fund managers, IFA’s and insurance brokers
- acting for beneficiaries and personal representatives in a wide range of inheritance and probate claims, including cases where wills have been challenged on the grounds of forgery, incapacity or undue influence or because they have not been validly executed
- acting for clients in disputes over ownership of land or property, particularly where there is a dispute as to the extent of an individuals’ interest or share in the property
- acting for a large property investment/development company in a dispute with an investor
- acting for high profile clients in the media, sport and entertainment industry, including advising on defamation and privacy law
- acting for a group of Saudi Arabian companies in multi million pound litigation concerning allegations of fraud, bribery and breach of fiduciary duties
- acting for a large property investment/development company in a dispute with an investor
- acting for clients obtaining or opposing freezing injunctions, particularly where there are allegations of fraud or dishonesty
- acting for a partner of a City law firm in a multi million pound claim involving allegations of breach of trust and fraud
