Rekha has worked in healthcare regulation law for four years. Prior to joining Kingsley Napley, Rekha was called to the Bar and worked for a law firm specialising in Healthcare Law, where she investigated allegations into the Fitness to Practise of Registrants referred to the Nursing and Midwifery Council. She joined Kingsley Napley in January 2009.
Rekha manages and prepares cases on behalf of the Health Professions Council and the Teaching Agency. As part of her work, Rekha has conducted Fitness to Practise hearings at the Health Professions Council. Rekha has a wide range of experience working on both complex and sensitive cases. She is experienced in instructing different experts and working with vulnerable witnesses.
Rekha has recently completed her cross qualification as a Solicitor. In addition to her experience in Regulatory Law, she also has experience in Clinical Negligence and Prison Law. Rekha recently completed a sabbatical where she was involved in working on files concerning Parole Board Lifer Panel hearings to argue for the release or recategorisation of life sentenced prisoners. Rekha was also involved in advising clients in relation to Parole Board and adjudication appeal procedures and preparing cases for Judicial Review.
Rekha has an interest in medical ethics matters and completed a Masters in Medical Ethics and Law at the Centre of Medical Law and Ethics, King’s College London.
