Recent cases

In October 2011 Lucy presented a hearing before the HPC’s Conduct and Competence Committee in relation to a Hearing Aid Dispenser who was alleged to have dishonestly overcharged elderly patients. However, the panel found that his actions were dishonest and his name was erased from the HPC’s Register.

Lucy appeared before the HPC’s Conduct and Competence Committee in November 2011 in a three day hearing involving a Physiotherapist who was charged with conduct amounting to lack of competence in relation to 38 patients. The majority of the particulars were found proved and the panel found that these amounted to lack of competence and that the Registrant’s fitness to practise was impaired. The Registrant was made subject to a conditions of practice order which prevents her from working without supervision.
