Jennifer Bartlett

Jennifer is a Senior Associate in the Employment Department at Kingsley Napley.  Prior to joining Kingsley Napley, Jennifer worked at several city firms specialising in commercial employment law. Jennifer attended Cambridge University from which she holds first class degrees in law at both undergraduate and post graduate level. 

She provides practical, commercially focused advice in a user friendly and efficient manner to businesses of all sizes from multi-nationals to small entrepreneurial firms and senior executives on all areas of employment law and related employee relations matters.

Areas in which Jennifer advises include:

• All areas of discrimination with a particular focus on sex and age discrimination;
• Drafting and reviewing contracts of employment and advising on bonus issues;
• TUPE;
• Disciplinary and grievance situations;
• Drafting and advising on post termination restrictions;
• Advising on unfair, constructive and wrongful dismissals, including taking many cases to the Employment Tribunal;
• Compromise agreements.

Jennifer acts for many professional services firms and the financial services sector dealing with tricky and confidential issues with care and discretion. 

She has a thriving practice in the creative industries acting for many clients in the advertising industry, senior marketing and branding professionals.  She also acts regularly for high profile sports figures, both managers and players, and clubs.

Recent experience

• Successfully defending a professional services firm against a six figure race discrimination claim;
• Bringing a sex and pregnancy/maternity discrimination claim for a senior executive against a large multi-national;
• Successfully defending a multi-million pound business against a sex discrimination claim and obtaining an exceptionally large adverse costs award against the Claimant;
• Advising a senior executive in a financial institution on unfair dismissal and bonus issues; and
• Advising on TUPE issues relating to the outsourcing of IT services and several business purchases.
