Colin joined the dispute resolution team in August 2009 and specialises commercial litigation and has experience of both private practice and industry. He took part in some of the Lloyds of London litigation and he has handled a number of high value and difficult commercial claims.
Areas of expertise
Colin has experience of disputes relating to commercial contracts, construction agreements, directors, shareholders and partnerships, distribution agreements, professional and non-professional negligence, and property whether through court proceedings, arbitration or mediation.
From time to time, Colin acts for overseas clients, sometimes in conjunction with simultaneous proceedings in another jurisdiction.
Recent experience
Colin’s recent experience includes acting:
- for a large metal recycling company and its European parent (both part of an international group) concerning claims in conversion and conspiracy
- for one sibling in a highly acrimonious family partnership dispute
- on professional negligence claims against accountants for wrong tax advice resulting in further assessments by HMRC
- for the managers of a hedge fund that was required to bring its operation on-shore
