Charlotte graduated from University College London in September 2010 with a First Class Degree. She then began her time at Kingsley Napley when undertaking a week’s placement as part of a university prize for the subject Law of Evidence. This gave her first-hand experience of both the Regulatory and Professional Discipline team and the Criminal team.
She was then offered the role of Paralegal within the Regulatory department commencing October 2010. Charlotte’s responsibilities developed to the extent that she became solely responsible for the Pre-Investigating Committee work for our client, the General Teaching Council (GTC).
This role entailed a variety of tasks, such as drafting allegations, corresponding both in writing and by telephone with schools, local authorities and police authorities and updating the GTC weekly on the progress of individual cases.
Charlotte then became bundler for the Regulatory department in October 2011 and was responsible for the preparation of bundles for our clients, the Health Professions Council (HPC), the General Optical Council, the GTC and the General Dental Council.
From January 2012 onwards, Charlotte has worked as a Legal Assistant within the Regulatory team, assisting with the investigatory work for the HPC and GTC. As part of this role, she interviews witnesses and drafts their statements. Charlotte also co-edits our online publication the e-Regulator and our biannual publication, the Regulator.
