Bridget is an experienced Claimant lawyer who has specialised in clinical negligence since qualification in 1994. She joined Kingsley Napley in 1996 and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2010. Bridget has dealt with a broad spectrum of complex claims arising from various fields such as gynaecology, obstetrics, oncology, surgery, spinal injury and general practice. She has also handled claims for nervous shock.
An important part of her work is the assessment and development of quantifiable areas of loss. She is keen to demystify the law and provide matter of fact explanations of the procedures involved.
Previous cases include settlement of a claim for cerebral palsy suffered at birth 23 years ago. In another birth injury claim she obtained a pre-action admission of liability in a case where the CTG trace was no longer available. She has also succeeded at trial in recovering the cost of a home care regime for a client in a persistent vegetative state.
More recent cases include settlement of a claim involving double lower limb amputation following delay in the removal of thromboses. She has also recently been successful in recovering compensation to reflect the impact on schooling and future earnings as a result of facial disfigurement.
