Adam joined Kingsley Napley in January 2010 as a partner and head of Public Law. He has over 20 years experience as a public lawyer and previously spent most of his career in central government, working at the Treasury Solicitor’s Department and at the Attorney General’s Office.

Described in Chambers UK 2012 as having “massive experience” and an “excellent pedigree”, recent significant cases have included representing AvMA and the Patients Association as core participants in the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust public inquiry and acting for relatives of victims in the 7/7 Inquest. Adam has been involved in many of the most significant judicial review cases of recent years, for example Gentle (Article 2 ECHR and the adequacy of steps taken to ensure the legality of the invasion of Iraq), Al Skeini (Article 2 ECHR sand the deaths of Iraqi civilians), Binyam Mohammed (disclosure of information to Guantanamo detainees), Purdy (prosecution policy and assisted suicide) and Wheeler (lawfulness of the ratification of the Treaty of Lisbon without a referendum).
